The panel has said the D-1 could move simultaneously with a major activefault called Urazoko located near the plant's No. 1 and No. 2 reactors, and could affect important facilities above it.
The panel, comprised of Mr. Shimazaki and four academics, has been saying the No. 2 reactor is likely to be sitting above an activefault, defined as one that has shifted during the past 120, 000 to 130, 000 years.
