And earlier this year the evidence against many hours of sitting expanded further: The AmericanJournalofEpidemiology published a study finding that those who work a sedentary job have almost twice the risk of a specific type of colon cancer.
Two papers featured in the current issue of the prestigious AmericanJournalofEpidemiology provide useful examples of how, simply because a study has been carried out, its findings can get held up as if they were meaningful, and the many considerations that should make us skeptical get short shrift.
