Hooker Phil Greening, lock Simon Shaw, prop Darren Garforth and loose forward Joe Worsley will be looking to impress England manager Clive Woodward and new head coach Andy Robinson ahead of next Saturday's first Test against South Africa in Pretoria.
Sale Sharks hooker Andy Titterrell is a certainty for the trip, while Woodward and his coaching staff are also looking closely at Leeds scrum-half and England Under-21 Grand Slam captain Clive Stewart-Smith.
Victorious coach Sir Clive Woodward quit his post in September 2004, and his successor Andy Robinson oversaw a disastrous 25-month spell in which England lost 13 of his 22 games in charge.
The first lady also bristled when asked about Woodward's suggestion that she privately supported an effort by then-White House Chief of Staff Andy Card to push out Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld.
