According to Technology Review, the company's so-called "rural connectivity platform" (or RCP) is able to beam WiFi signals from one antenna to another located more than 60 miles away, and at data rates up to 6.5 megabits per second, no less.
The Archer module consists of the UltraGig 6400 single chip transmitter with its intelligent beam-forming 60GHz RF transceiver, embedded antenna array, and WirelessHD 1.1 compliant network processor as well as all necessary external components on a single, flex- print cable module.
The UltraGig 6400 combines the intelligent beam-forming technology of a 60GHz RF transceiver with an embedded antenna array to enable a secure, high-bandwidth video link to WirelessHD-compliant receivers and displays, thereby eliminating all interference with Wi-Fi-based solutions.
