Meanwhile, there was some good news for Minghella's Cold Mountain, which has been chosen as the opening film for the 54th BerlinInternationalFilmFestival.
When it was first released in 1982, "Himala" was picked for the official selection at BerlinInternationalFilmFestival, as well as a number of other festivals, and Nora Aunor was nominated for Best Actress.
It has been picking up awards since winning the Golden Bear at its world premiere at the 2011 BerlinInternationalFilmFestival and is one of the front-runners for best foreign language film at the upcoming Academy Awards.
Jurors said the film, which picked up the best first feature award at the BerlinInternationalFilmFestival in February, "offers us a transcendent tale of hope and perseverance in a world that few Westerners ever have the chance to see".
Actors are first nominated by an EFP member group -- for instance, the British Film Council in the UK. An international jury of industry experts then selects 10 actors to be presented as Shooting Stars at the BerlinFilmFestival.
