Harvard issued academic sanctions against approximately 60 students in February who were forced to withdraw from school for a period of time in a cheating scandal that involved the final examin a class on Congress.
And the cheating emerged when a pupil, discovering that she had been shown the exam paper in advance, told a teacher, who in turn informed the exam board.
Dr McLone said that out of 6.5 million exam entries in Britain last year there were only 40 cases of cheating, in conditions of strict invigilation that were likely to catch any would-be wrongdoers.
