The action followed an inspection at the Euticals plant following an incident two weeks ago, when three workers were taken to hospital following a chemicalspill.
Norman Robinson from the Environment Agency said 100% of invertebrates including pond skaters, water shrimps, water snails, leeches, and Mayflies, close to the source of the chemicalspill, had died.
It was originally thought the spill involved about 3, 000 litres of a chemical liquid, but the fire service said it was 775 litres of non-hazardous petroleum distillates.
