Shalom says one of the main attractions of Cisco UCS is that it comes with an application programming interface (API) that gives the GigaSpaces Extreme Application Platform (XAP) management console direct access to the hardware.
What's more is that the application acts as an extension of the firm's Preva fitness tracking console built into its 880 line of cardio equipment, and keeps data synced between devices and exercise machines through the cloud.
This patent application is much more concerned with viewing and interacting with the device, almost as a console, than it is with actually communicating.
