ContinentalAirlinesInc. said earlier this week that it was expanding its mobile boarding-pass service to Frankfurt Airport, becoming the first American carrier to offer paperless boarding passes outside the U.S. The service allows customers to receive boarding passes electronically on their cell phones or PDAs, Continental said.
The FAA only has direct jurisdiction over passenger flights of the six U.S.-based 787s operated by United Airlines parent, United Continental Holdings Inc.
