This study surveys the current regulatory status of the Brazilian media system in comparison with practices adopted in other ten democracies (Canada, Chile, Germany, France, Jamaica, Malaysia, South Africa, Thailand, United Kingdom and United States) and with the recommendations provided by international laws.
