Feibusch was forced to escape from Germany after his work was featured in the 1937 DegenerateArt Exhibition put on by the Nazis to single out the modern style they saw as causing "cultural disintegration".
During World War II, Thomas Olsen hid this "Scream" and dozens of other Munch works in a remote hay barn to protect them from the Nazis, who were torching art they declared degenerate.
