The mansion was surrounded on three sides by rows of cracked Doric pillars, its second-floor gallery missing many balusters, its windows patched with cardboard.
The pilasters culminate in simple Doric capitals, and Doric moldings animate both entablature and pediment, while also carrying the cornice around the building and tightly tying its major blocks together.
Lined with Doric columns, its centerpiece is a 9-foot bronze sculpture of a seven-man bomber crew returning from a mission cast by Philip Jackson, whose work includes a monument to the late Queen Mother.
