Speaking at the Ninth High-Level Group meeting on Education for All (EFA) in Addis Ababa (Ethiopia), Ms Bokova lauded the accomplishments of the Education For All (EFA) campaign - including the fact that in Africa 42 million more children are enrolledinprimaryschool this year than in 2000 - but said that the economic recession had caused some governments to cut back on education funding.
Although participation is increasing at secondary level, the report finds that only 54 percent of secondary school-age youth are enrolled, leaving an estimated 20 million "out-of-school" or still inprimary classes.
