The independent inquiry board set up to investigate the first explosive failure said the flightcontrolsystem failed because of errors in computer software design.
This is made possible by an active articulated torsional drive unit, which in combination with a complex controlsystem attains an unprecedented level of efficiency in flight operation.
"The described technique cannot engage or control the aircraft's autopilot system using the (Flight Management System) or prevent a pilot from overriding the autopilot, " the FAA said.
