New York City could cut greenhousegas(GHG) emissions by 90% by 2050 by implementing a portfolio of energy reduction measures using existing technologies, according to a report released last week by the Urban Green Council.
An executive order signed by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger (R) in June 2005 established short- and long-term greenhousegas(GHG) emission reduce targets for California: to reduce GHG emissions to 1990 levels by 2020 and 80% below 1990 levels by 2050.
Last week, the EPA published its GHG Emissions Report, assessing the sources and volumes of greenhousegas emissions in the U.S. for calendar year 2010.
