This year's September 27 marks three important lunar events -- a supermoon, a total lunar eclipse and Asia's Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as the MoonFestival.
Mooncakes have been the dessert of choice for Chinese families gathering together during the Mid-Autumn Festival to celebrate the Moon Goddess of immortality.
Devotees take approximately 48 days to prepare for the festival, which takes place mid-January to mid-February, when the moon is full in the 10th Tamil month of the Thai calendar.
