The dissidents also agreed to pursue "nonviolent resistance ... to accomplish the goals of the revolution" and praised Syrian troops who had refused to "kill their fellow countrymen" and defected to join the rebel Free Syrian Army.
The 14 were found guilty of attempting to subvert the government by attending overseas courses that trained them in nonviolentresistance techniques and how to use the Internet to attract other supporters to their cause, according to prosecutors.
As key organizers put it, the "activists'" job was to conduct a nonviolent jihad to complement the work of the "resistance fighters" massacring children and parents in Israel.
