Saab Automobile's former owner filed suit against GM, claiming the U.S. car giant blocked a proposed bailout of the Swedish auto maker by a Chinese firm.
So it is a curious development to hear today it has been announced that SAABAutomobile and BMW reached an agreement to allow the Swedish group to use engines developed by BMW. The first element of the JV will be for engines to be deployed in the new 9-3 that will appear in late 2012.
On 16th May Swedish Auto announced that they had signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Pang Da Automobile Trade Co. (China), Ltd that would give SAAB access to te required cash flow to restart production in exchange for an equity stake.
