Sometime in the early 1900s, the history of the tool took an odd turn when some unknown resident of the Appalachian Mountains took a fiddle to his sawblade and made music.
The project, part-funded by the UK's Department for Business, Innovation and Skills, saw a full-scale 44m prototype turbine blade fitted at a wind farm in Norfolk.
This is hardly the first time we've seen Switchblade -- it's appeared in various Razer keyboards, the original Razer Blade and even a prototype that never saw the light of day.
