At some point our society is going to be forced to choose between allowing this ongoing abuse of the ESA and paying the ever-increasing economic and societal price, or modifying the process of nominating species in a way that requires the employment of sound science, the consideration of economic and other societal impacts, and returns the law to its original, balanced intent.
