The chairman of the Gairloch branch of the Scottish Crofting Foundation, said lambs that had not been tagged had been found dead in a sea eagle's nest in Melvaig.
The skies are filled with birds, from the darting form of the delightfully named spangled drongo to the white-bellied seaeagle that rides the breeze on wings spanning two metres.
Leaving popular Whitehaven Beach, paddle towards Peter Bay, 19km north on Whitsunday Island, where you may see a seaeagle gracefully plucking dinner from the ocean and perhaps a humpback whale breaching the surface.
