Among other themes, the President and the Director-General discussed the global agenda, particularly in relation to climate change, south-south cooperation and solidarity.

International cooperation and solidarity should be promoted to support the implementation of the Convention and the rights of the child should be a priority in the United Nations system-wide action on human rights.

The meeting will focus on the need to promote national and international solidarity for a shared vision of science and will also explore ICTP's scientific programmes which through international cooperation, contribute to the rapprochement of peoples and cultures.
