Schools that participate in the government-subsidized lunch and breakfast programs next school year won't be able to serve whole milk and must offer nonfat milk.
The bill also does nothing to help the financial aid prospects for graduate and professional school students, who will lose their eligibility for subsidized Stafford loans beginning July 1, under the Budget Control Act of 2011.
Some Stafford loans are subsidized, which means the government will pay for the interest on the loan accrued while the student is in school for at least part of the time.
