"Unfortunately, it's going to be several decades before we see the end of theAntarcticozonehole, " said Dr Susan Solomon of the United States National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
TheAntarcticozone hole's current size is approximately 10 million square miles (26 million square kilometres.) It is approximately three times the area of Australia and is the largest ozonehole ever.
The argument is that while BAS science has yielded the discovery of theozonehole and other important findings on the glaciers and biology of theAntarctic Peninsular, the future lies in collaboration.
