Faraone's son Osiride wants to keep theIsraelites around and continue his clandestine love affair with the Israelite Elcia, so he urges Faraone to break his promise and ends up a casualty of the last plague, the Slaying of the First-Born.
It was puzzling to watch theIsraelites and Philistines mingle onstage (the supposedly opposing groups were identifiable through costume designer Gideon Davey's fezzes, black hats and such), and the Philistine villain Joabel seemed to have his own homoerotic reason for making trouble for David.
He argued that just as theIsraelites carried off the gold of the Egyptians and put it to their own use, so Christians could and should use the wisdom of the pagan Greeks as a gift from God.
