The 2013 Nissan LEAF again uses an independent strut suspension with stabilizer bar in front and a torsionbeamrearsuspension with integrated stabilizer bar.
The Veloster is seriously snouty, a consequence of it being a front-drive car with a transverse-mounted engine (the Veloster is very much a mechanical clone of the new Elantra, complete with torsion-beam rearsuspension).
The 3's suspension with a proper multilink geometry in the back as compared with a torsion-beam rear axle remains composed under hard braking and cornering, and manages to quell big whoops from the road that would send other compacts into oscillating fits.
