Paramount Pictures is planning to co-produce parts of "Transformers 4" in China and it has tweaked its coming "World War Z" in order to not offend censors there.
And with traditional movie funding sources drying up, Hollywood studios increasingly see Beijing as a bankrolling destination of choice, with Chinese counterparts ponying up on glitzy co-productions, including "Iron Man 3" and next year's "Transformers 4, " and films without a direct China connection as well.
When Transformers arrives in theaters July 4, GM will be the beneficiary of maybe the biggest product placement ever: the stars of this movie are all GM vehicles, transformed into robots fighting evil.
