The major Fleming collection held by the Lilly Library at Indiana University does not even include an autographed manuscript or typescript of Chitty, auction house Sotheby's said.
Seven Stories archivist Hannah Green said she realised the typescript did not appear to be closely related to the picture book when she came to catalogue the collection.
