Its network of 14, 000 agents have made Allianz No. 1 in Germany's traditional life insurance market, with Euro4.2 billion in gross premiumswritten in Germany in the first half of 2000.
Its net premiumswritten is almost flat from the same period last year, but its combined ratio declined to 97.6% from 98.2% in 2011, an important increase of 60 basis points.
