He said crews were being helped by Hereford-based recycling company WyeValley Metals which is using specialist vehicles to remove the structure and contents of the building from the site.
Mr Akers said the best option for the WyeValley NHS Trust would be for it to go into a partnership with a neighbouring NHS trust, especially one that had the financial stability of foundation trust and teaching status.
