虎杖别名酸筒杆、酸桶芦、大接骨、斑庄根，拉丁学名：Polygonum cuspidatum，蓼科、虎杖属植物，多年生草本。根状茎粗壮，横走。茎直立，不仅供观赏，也做食品，嫩茎做蔬菜，根做冷饮料，置凉水中镇凉（冰箱冰镇尤佳》名，“冷饮子”，清凉解暑代茶。它的液汁可染米粉，别有风味。食用以其味酸故也称“酸汤杆”。虎杖含有蓼甙、有机酸、葡萄糖甙、多糖类等。有清热解毒、清凉解暑、健胃清食作用，是一种蓼科植物。产陕西南部、甘肃南部、华东、华中、华南、四川、云南及贵州；朝鲜、日本也有。
