西洋梨（学名：Pyrus communis L.）是乔木，高达15米，树冠广圆锥形；小枝有时具刺，叶片卵形、近圆形至椭圆形，伞形总状花序，具花6-9朵，苞片膜质，线状披针形，萼筒外被柔毛，萼片三角披针形，花瓣倒卵形，白色；果实倒卵形或近球形，绿色、黄色，稀带红晕，具斑点，萼片宿存。花期4月，果期7-9月。产欧洲及亚洲西部。中国引入栽培者均属下列变种或其杂种。
