认知失调又名认知不和谐。 (Cognitive Dissonance)认知失调是指一个人的行为与自己先前一贯的对自我的认知（而且通常是正面的、积极的自我）产生分歧，从一个认知推断出另一个对立的认知时而产生的不舒适感、不愉快的情绪。其中有两个重点或难点：一是认知成分，即所谓人们的思维、态度和信念等等；二是推断，即所谓逻辑推理是否正确。这两点同时又是产生失调的原因。
