高压隔离开关是发电厂和变电站电气系统中重要的开关电器，需与高压断路器配套使用。隔离开关适用于三相交流50Hz，额定电压12KV的户内装置。供高压设备的有电压而列负荷载的情况下接通，切断或转换线路之用。其主要功能是：保证高压电器及装置在检修工作时的安全，起隔离电压的作用，不能用与切断、投入负荷电流和开断短路电流，仅可用于不产生强大电弧的某些切换操作，即是说它不具有灭弧功能；按安装地点不同分为，屋内式和屋外式，按绝缘支柱数目分为，单柱式，双柱式和三柱式，各电压等级都有可选设备。
