Detachment is usually associated with a slacker mentality: a cold, dispassionate, uninterested, apathetic, even condescendingattitude toward life and others.
This patronising, condescendingattitude towards young people, no doubt with a hint of class-based snobbery hidden in there too, is the reason why many young people do not attend classical concerts.
