During a debate on 11 March 2010, members of the European Parliament's Industry and EnergyCommittee questioned the Commission and Council of Ministers on future funding plans.
The committee agreed with the EuropeanCommission estimate that to achieve secure, green and cheap energy by 2020, a trillion euros will need to be spent on infrastructure.
