China's longer-term opportunity is to build an auto industry based not on the gasoline engine but on alternativefuels, skipping a generation of technology as it has done in areas such as telecoms.
The former would involve affording consumers and businesses the opportunity to acquire vehicles powered not just by gasoline or diesel, but by alternativefuels like ethanol and methanol.
"We are building a leadership position in the conversion of diesel, gasoline and LPG fuels to LNG in Europe, developing a competitive alternative to LNG terminal supply with portable, small-scale LNG fueling solutions for long-haul trucking and small remote energy centers, " said Davor Grcevich, Gasfin managing director.
