Customers too busy togotothe local postoffice themselves may hand over their passbooks to visiting salesmen, who will arrange a new account for them at no extra charge.
"This is a busy area, and we are appealing for anyone who may have seen this man, who was dressed in a uniform, go into thepostoffice or leave it to come forward, " said Det Insp Patch.
