abstract:The Later Tang Dynasty lasted from 923 to 936 during the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms Period in China, the first in a series of three dynasties ruled by the Shatuo Turks. At its height, it controlled most of northern China.
Started during the TangDynasty and later expanded by Zhu Yuanzhang, the first Emperor of the Ming Dynasty (1368 to 1644), the stone wall extends more than 13.7km and is the most complete city fortification to have survived in China.
