abstract:Poochie was a popular Mattel toy in the 1980s, a white poodle with pink ears and paws that wore a pair of purple sunglasses and could do extraordinary things, such as drive a car and speak.
"The organic nature and evolution of this has been just incredible, " says Bob Frankel, chief operating officer of Cudlie Accessories, Poochie's parent company.
The only hint of a pop song is an orchestration of Victor Young's "Poochie, " from 1941, which appears briefly during the scene where Scottie and Judy are dancing in the Fairmont Hotel.
