Defender Thomas Vermaelen explained the turnaround, saying: "Wejustreactedverywell. The first half was reallybadbut in the second we putpressure on them and saw the result."
After pressure from the Bush administration, Israel also reacted with some degree of moderation to an attack last weekend, in which Hizbullah, a Shia militant group based in southern Lebanon, shelled the northern Israeli town of Shlomi, killing a 16-year-old Israeli boy.
"The spinners were outstanding, the guys reacted well to the conditions we were encountering, we put the batsmen under pressure and that is leading to wickets, " said the England skipper.
