The less scared they are, the more likely Europe's spineless policymakers are to jump yet again for a plan that does just enough to stave off catastrophe temporarily, but lets the underlying problem get worse.
If they jump up and down and say we're against this - Democrats and the Republicans who are against it - and yet still vote to give the president the money he's asking for, would it be far as to call the people in that position spineless or feckless?
