Dr Biermann and Dr Kusenko think that one in particular of these hypothetical particles known as a sterile neutrino will turn out to be the main constituent of dark matter.
But if both it and the explanation for the solar-neutrino deficit were true, there would have to be a fourth sort of neutrino one which its proponents refer to as a sterileneutrino.
