Amazon.com announced a new licensing agreement with EPIX for movies including The Avengers, Iron Man 2, TheHungerGames, Super 8, Thor, and more, expanding its catalog of title offerings for Prime Instant Video to more than 30, 000 movies and TV episodes.
His Amazon Prime video streaming service is a direct competitor to Netflix (in the release, the company announced it reached a licensing agreement with EPIX giving their users access to movies like The Avengers, Iron Man 2, and theHungerGames, meaning the cable channel ended its exclusivity with Netflix) and, to a certain extent, the Apple iTunes store.
Amazon recently signed a deal with Epix that gives the company access to movies from Paramount, MGM and Lionsgate including TheHungerGames and Iron Man 2.
