Eight judges have resigned in protest at General Musharraf's attempt to dismiss Iftikhar Chaudhry, the chief justice, on charges of misconduct and misuseofauthority.
Ms. Quinn also stripped Council Member Ruben Wills of that authority after he invoked his right against self-incrimination during a probe into themisuseof state funds.
