In the era of colonialism, Chinese Americans were represented as“Yellow Peril”, an absolutely negative inferior group of people; whereas with Civil Rights movements surging in the 1960s, Chinese Americans are entitled to“Model Minority”on account of their success supposedly to be based on their law-abiding, hard working, thrifty, submissiveness and even forbearance.
