Two novel phosphorous-containing flame-retardants:9,10-dihydro-9-oxa-10-phosphaphenanthrene-10-oxide(DOPO) and 10-(2’,5’-bis(hydroxyl)phenyl)-9,10-dihydro-9-oxa-10-phosphaphenanthrene-10-oxide(ODOPB) were synthesized by"one pot"process using o-phenyl phenol and phosphorus trichloride as starting materials and zinc chloride as catalyst. The structures of the obtained compounds were identified by IR,1HNMR and elemental analysis.
