abstract:Jameson is a single distillery Irish whiskey produced by the Irish Distillers subsidiary of the French distiller Pernod Ricard. Jameson is similar in its adherence to the single distillery principle to the single malt tradition, but Jameson blends column still spirit with single pot still whiskey, a combination of malted barley with unmalted or "green" barley distilled in a pot still.
After a late-night drinking session with friends and a bottle of Jameson, Marc Forgione, chef of the eponymous New York restaurant, said that the Irishwhiskey reminded him of peaches.
Regardless of vintage, Irishwhiskey is definitely flying off the shelves these days, with sales of Jameson, owned by the French conglomerate Pernod-Ricard, ramping up by 25 percent in the six months to October 2012.
