Today it is home to several major companies, including the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre, the Paul Taylor Dance Company, the Eifman Ballet of Saint Petersburg, the MarthaGraham Dance Company, and the New York Gilbert and Sullivan Players, as well as the Encores!
Ronald Protas, Graham's legal heir and the plaintiff in the case, battled the MarthaGraham Dance Company and its dancers in court, arguing that he owned the copyrights to Graham's choreography.
