As most people like their readingmatter to be easily comprehensible, Mr Lindon's stable of such writers as Alain Robbe-Grillet, Nathalie Sarraute, Marguerite Duras and Claude Simon tended to be admired more by literary critics than by the public.
But while the New Atheists may be loud, outspoken and popular readingmatter among the sort of book buyers who use Amazon or read the New York Times, is there any evidence to suggest they are doing anything more than preaching to the (non-) converted?
